Bristol Rooms to Book - Hotels and City Guide
Bristol continues to be acclaimed as one of Europe's finest provincial cities, so it’s not surprising that it attracts millions of visitors each year who want to immerse themselves its surroundings, culture and heritage. Bristol's name is known throughout the world as it's carried on products as diverse as Harveys Bristol Cream, the fine sherry, Bristol Blue Glass, Bristol Cars that exemplify grace and elegance, and the Bristol Sound of today's contemporary music scene.
The City of Bristol really has something for everybody, whether your passion is heritage and culture, fine dining, art, music and entertainment or shopping – Bristol will cater beyond your needs. For example, those intrigued by Victorian engineering will marvel at the works of the great engineer I. K. Brunel whose Clifton Suspension Bridge, Temple Meads Station and ss Great Britain are amongst the greatest of his 19th century creations. Or perhaps you are intrigued by the theatre, if this is the case why not include the Bristol Old Vic on your tour. Here, many young actors learnt their trade, later to become household names of film, the stage and television - stars such as Patrick Stewart, Patricia Routledge, Jeremy Irons and Miranda Richardson. And, as for events, Bristol is packed to the brim here as well. To start with, the Bristol Community Festival is the UK's biggest free music festival, and not surprisingly draws countless thousands, which is a must-see whether you are a music fan or just someone who enjoys a great atmosphere. The St Pauls Carnival is an great celebration by the city's ethnic community with great sights, sounds and splashes of colour. And of course, not forgetting, the marvelous Bristol Harbour Festival with boats galore and loads of fabulous entertainment, and one of the world's biggest balloon fiestas – a real must-see, especially for the children.
During your trip be sure to stay in one of the quality hotels or B & B’s of the city, the coast or countryside. These will provide the warmest of welcomes, with great restaurants and pubs serving great locally made beers, international fine wines and acclaimed food, with produce often origination from local farms and gardens.
